Extend Fertility is excited to welcome Dr. Bat-Sheva Lerner Maslow to our healthcare team! A highly educated, accomplished physician, Dr. Maslow is an excellent addition to our Extend-ed family. We’ll let her introduce herself.
Hi! I’m Dr. Maslow. I’m thrilled beyond words to be joining this team.
First a little about my background: I attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. I went on to complete my OB/GYN residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and my subspecialty training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Connecticut. Along the way, I completed the clinical and translational research master’s program at UConn, which focuses on clinical research methods and the way that we communicate about the results of that research to the greater public.

For the past nine years, I’ve been working as a physician and a researcher in the fields of women’s health and fertility. I also write and lecture on topics at the intersection of reproductive medicine and Jewish law. To that end, I serve as the curriculum director for Nishmat’s North American Yoatzot Halacha Fellowship, a program that trains female religious scholars to address questions of Jewish Law with respect to women’s health. In addition to educating the fellows on topics pertaining women’s health so that they can be more effective religious advisors, I function as a liaison between religious leadership and medical professionals.
I have always been passionate about women’s health, particularly about empowering women to become more knowledgeable about their own biology. The fact that highly educated women can go through life achieving great success, but lack a basic understanding of the nature of their own fertility is a great injustice in our society. I see it as a personal mission to educate women so that they can make informed about their fertility—it’s one step toward rectifying that injustice.
A second injustice at play here is the high cost and inaccessibility typical of fertility assessment and treatment, which keeps valuable information and therapy out of the hands of the average woman. In that way, the greater Extend Fertility mission—friendly, accessible, affordable, high-quality care—aligns perfectly with my own personal mission.
Looking forward to meeting each and every one of you,
